Stretch knit wraps and baby carriers are very soft, so ideal for newborns and their delicate, soft skin. Some brands are more stetchy than others and some more supportive. We've tested a wide range of these brands and our favourites are the Manduca Sling and the Caboo.
The Manduca Sling will feel supportive to approx 6 months (although weight tested far beyond. Many brands will feel like they lack support much sooner). It's one length of fabric with a colour the one edge, so it's easy to differentiate between the top and bottom. It's one of the more supportive stretch wraps, yet also quite thin, so good for our Australian climate.
If you are worried that a long length of material will be confusing, the Caboo may be for you. It pops on like a t-shirt, yet can be adjusted to fit snugly onto different sized users. We personally have tried many more brands, finding some too narrow, less supportive or just too thick and hot.
